

92, of Surrey BC passed away peacefully September 30, 2023. Gottlieb was born in Rosenfeld, Ukraine on March 19, 1931. Gottlieb was married to Elfriede Maria Oppenlander June 5, 1954, they were married for 66 years. After having their son, they moved to Canada in 1957. He was an amazing hard working steel fabricator where he worked at West Coast Steel. He participated in building the Alex Fraser Bridge and the Observatory in Hawaii. They were big accomplishments during his life!
Gottlieb built their beautiful Spanish Style home in Panorama Ridge, Surrey BC with his very own hands! He was full of talent and had an undeniable work ethic. He absolutely loved spending time in his garden and rebuilding cars in his workshop.
Gottlieb was a family man and found joy taking the grandchildren and great grandchildren into the yard where they would harvest the garden, pick raspberries, cherries and plums. All the children have fond memories of these times. Along with long walks, swimming and summer in Soap Lake!
Gottlieb is survived by his son Echart Oppenlander, his granddaughters Bernadette Lynch & Shannon Schierbeck along with his three great grand daughters Emma Schierbeck, Sara Schierbeck, Josette Lynch and his great grandson Everett Lynch.
The family of Gottlieb Oppenlander wishes to thank all the care staff at Fleetwood Place, he was very fond of so many of you that helped him throughout these last years.
