Hanne Anni Gudrun Hoogstins

It is with great sadness and heavy heart to tell you that my lifelong sweetheart, Hanne, for 59 years passed away on August 7,2024 at 8:30am 21 days shy of her 78th birthday. She had a debilitating, slow progressing brain disease (related to Parkinson’s) that finally took her life after a 10 year battle. She was strong to the end.

Hanne was a great mom, a super partner and never complained about fulfilling the commitments of a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved our children and our Grandbabies so much.

We met at the age of 19 and were married at 19. We were so in love and from there on our lives continued for a smooth and wonderful 59 years. I will miss my sweet loving Hanne.

There will be a private family gathering on August 28th which would have been her 78th birthday. No other services are planned at this time.

I have so many things to see and do,

You must not tie yourself to me in tears,

Be happy that we had so many years.

I gave to you my love, you can only guess,

How much you gave to me in happiness,

I thank you for the love you each have shown,

But now it’s time i travelled on alone.

So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,

Then let your grief be comforted by trust,

Its only for a while that we must part,

So bless the memories within your heart.

I won’t be far away, for life goes on,

So if you need me, call and i will come,

Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near;

And if you listen with your heart,

You will hear all my love around you, soft and clear.

And then when you must come this way alone,

I will greet you with a smile and say

“"WELCOME HOME"
