
Born in Edmonton, Alberta on January 21, 1932, passed away suddenly on January 17, 2022, at age 89 after a long, happy, fulfilling life. Predeceased by his son, Andrew Keith on January 10, 1991 and his wife of 60 years, Sonia in 2016. His passion was his wife, his family and his friends. He was raised on his Mom and Dad's farm near Edmonton. He left there at age 17 in 1949 to go to Edmonton and start an apprenticeship in Carpentry. During his lifetime he only had two full time jobs, earning a certificate as a Journeyman Carpenter, a trade that was to serve him well throughout his life. He met his future wife, Sonia, in March 1954 and with the prospects of getting married, left his trade and joined Canada Post as a Letter Carrier in October 1955. Hugh worked in the Edmonton area for 12 years, then in 1967, he moved with his family to the Richmond area which quickly became his home. He spent the next 23 years working in the downtown area of Vancouver. He worked as a letter carrier for almost 35 years, retiring in June 1990 at age 58. He enjoyed a long close relationship with a circle of old dear friends. He is survived by Cathy, Karen and Bruce.
