

Ila was born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan on February 9th, 1922. The first daughter, second child of six, to William and Melva Wilson.
She grew up on the family farm in Westview Saskatchewan. Ila began her nursing career in Saskatoon City Hospital in 1942. Then in 1949 she married Garnet Miner Buffam in Moose Jaw. They were blessed with three children: Arthur, Allan and Melody.
She had a long successful nursing career which included working in Seattle and Moose Jaw where she also filled the roll of Head Nurse. In 1971, she and the family moved to Surrey, BC. She continued to nurse in New Westminster. In addition to working as a compassionate caregiver, her kind heart enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
They moved to Coquitlam in the early 1990’s. She was predeceased by Garnet in 1995. She married John Climenhaga in 2003 and moved to Victoria. Ila continued living there after John's death in 2008. She loved her Victoria community and the friends she had there.
Ila enjoyed many years of baking, knitting, crocheting, quilting, porcelain doll making and many other crafts, Ila was very social and took delight in visiting with her sisters, nieces and nephews, grandchildren Laura and Eric, great grandchildren Oliver and Jasper, and countless friends from all over.
Due to health concerns in 2013 Ila moved in with Al and Sue. In 2017 she moved to assisted living in Abbotsford. Ila spent her final ten days at the Hospice in Mission Hospital where she received the care and compassion that she had given to countless others.
