

Irene Elisabeth Luke passed away at her residence in Morgan Heights in Surrey, B.C. on November 9, at the age of 97. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Ludwig and Katherine Popp, her husband for 63 years Delmer, her sister Lena, her brothers Henry, Paul, Herb, Ernie, and great grandson Jack. Irene is survived by her children Gary (Cheryl) and Wendy (Tom) Parsons, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and sister in law Joan (Herb) Popp.
Born in Melville, Saskatchewan to a father employed by the railroad, she married Del, a railway agent operator in 1942. In the years that followed Irene raised her family, practiced cosmetology and clerked in pharmacies in a number of prairie towns before retiring to Langley B.C. in 1978.
Irene filled her spare time crafting with needlework, sewing and painting with oils. Many of her creations are in the homes of her children and grandchildren serving as memories of her talents for generations to come.
In accordance with the wishes of Irene and Del, their ashes will be interred together at Victory Memorial Park in Surrey, in a private ceremony at a later date.
Delmer Elroy Luke
Delmer Elroy Luke passed away in Langley B.C. on December 10, 2004 at the age of 89. Del was predeceased by his parents Roy and Margaret Luke, great grandson Jack and brother in law Hugh Kennedy. Del is survived by Irene, his wife of 63 years, Gary(Cheryl) and Wendy(Tom) Parsons, brother Doug(Doreen), sister Audrey(Hugh) Kennedy, and 7 grandchildren.
Born in Brooking, Saskatchewan to a father employed as a railway agent operator, he married Irene, the daughter of a railway employee, in 1942. Del was himself employed as an agent operator for Canadian National Railway and served in that capacity for 43 years in numerous prairie towns before retiring and moving to Langley B.C. in 1978.
Del filled much of his spare time curling, golfing and camping. He was an active community member in every community he lived in. He will be remembered most for the many hours he spent enjoying his children and grandchildren over the years.
In accordance with Del and Irene's wishes, his ashes will be interred at Victory Memorial Park in Surrey, B.C., in a private ceremony at a later date.
