ATKINSON: James Alan ‘Al’ passed away peacefully on July 25, 2015 at the age of 81 years. Al was predeceased by his parents Edgar in 1951 and Louise in 1988. Al is lovingly remembered by Marilyn his wife of 58 years and will remain in the hearts of his sister Barbara (Art), daughter Debbi, son Ron (Denise), daughter Julie (Dennis), grandchildren Theresa, Ashley, Michael, Lauren and great-grandchildren Maddison and Cassidy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Al was born in Montreal, Quebec and came to Vancouver at the tender age of six months. Al attended Kerrisdale Elementary, Point Grey Secondary and McGee High School.
As a respected member of the optical community for over 40 years, Al will remain in the memory of his many colleagues, associates, and friends.
A celebration of Al's life will be held at Newlands Golf and Country Club, 21025 48 Ave. Langley, BC on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM.
