On January 24th he suffered an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and spent the next 117 days defying all odds fighting for his health.
Jim is survived by his sister Lynda Braun (Bill) and his children Shane (Noula), Scott (Angela), Jaimi (Steve). His grandchildren Annaliese, Cady, Isa and extended family Kelly (John) and their daughter Makenna.
Jim was the second generation owner of Oliver Builders Ltd and for decades was the first in and last out of the office. His character and integrity was the cornerstone of his business and he fostered many lifelong friendships through his varied projects over the years.
Jim was an enthusiastic golfer and avid fisherman. Until recently he would spend late August up in the Cariboo exploring the many lakes and countryside’s. Always settling down at Anahim Lake for a week or more. His other hobby was his prized possession, 1967 Chevelle SS. After spending almost 30 years in storage he was finally able to get it out and start attending local car shows.
All of these hobbies and passions paled in comparison to his real love, his children, grandchildren and their activities. He could always be found on the sidelines cheering, taking pictures, eating a hot dog or just simply enjoying peoples company watching them play. This was Jim and his preferred lifestyle for the past 40+ years.
