It is with an unfathomable amount of sadness that we share the passing of our beautiful mother, Janice Turner (nee) Garrett. Mom was born October 6th, 1943, in Vancouver and passed away April 17th, 2024, in Langley, B.C with family by her side. Mom grew up in Vancouver and attended Lord Byng High school.
She is survived by her daughter Trish (Rob), her son Paul (Natalia), her grandchildren Elisha (Shane), Noah, James, Leo, Cassandra (Jeremy), and Marcus of Vancouver and her great-grandson Ozzie in Australia. Mom's big brother James (Jim) sadly passed away 13 days after her. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Terrie Garrett and her younger sister Sheila (John) Sexton.
Mom was a very devoted grandma and adored her grandchildren and great grandson. She lived and traveled the world. Her favorite place was Nairobi, Kenya, where we lived for 6 years. Mom's love of painting blossomed there, and she started painting flowers. Over many years of her life she worked in live theatre. She was very artistic, and created greeting cards and business cards using her paintings. She could pretty much create anything on the computer (self-taught in retirement). Mom was a very classy lady and carried herself with grace and elegance. She had a fabulous sense of humor right up until the end.
Thank you, mom, for everything. Paul and I will always cherish you and we are so grateful. Thank you for being the best, we will always love you. Momma, you taught us so much except how to live without you. There is an emptiness in our hearts now that we will carry with us until we are all together again.
There will be a celebration of mom's life on July 5th, 2024. Please contact Trish at (604) 600-9962 for service details.
