Jose Trinidad Dalisay was born March 5, 1928 in Manila, Philippines to Flaviano Ventura Dalisay and Felicia Amistad Trinidad. He had six siblings: Benjamin, Carmen, Angel, Flaviano Jr., Ester and Aurora.
Through sports scholarships, Jose attended Far Eastern University in Manila and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He played on the university basketball team. While a student, Jose was also a member of the Philippine Amateur Boxing Association.
Jose married Antonina Betita Cudilla in 1953. They had their first child, Jose Jr., in 1956.
The family moved to Canada (Corner Brook, Newfoundland) in 1966. Jo Ann was born in 1968 and Joni Mae in 1969. Jose was a dedicated teacher and coach at Cabrini High School.
In 1996, Jose and Antonina moved to White Rock, British Columbia. They enjoyed their retirement travelling and spending time with their 5 grandchildren. Jose was deeply saddened at the death of Antonina in February 2011.
Jose passed away peacefully on April 10, 2015 at Peace Portal Senior Housing.
