Judith Ann Keen

On March 28th, 2023, Judith Ann Keen (nee Williams) passed peacefully at Langley Hospice surrounded by the love and presence of her family.

Judy was born on January 12, 1958, in Vancouver, BC and was raised lovingly by her Maternal Grandparents and her Mother, Beverly. In 1979 Judy married the love of her life, Dan, and they later moved to North Delta, BC where they raised their two sons, Derek and Fraser.

Judy’s first career was as a Dental Assistant but as her family grew, she chose to be closer to home. In 1988 Judy started Kiddiwinks Family Daycare which supported countless families during its 22 years. In 2010, Judy embraced work outside of the home as a Customer Service Representative for Ideon Packaging where she stayed until her Cancer diagnosis in 2017. Her family will be forever grateful to the team at Ideon for their support during and after her diagnosis. In addition to being a dedicated employee, Judy spent countless hours volunteering – most notably for North Delta Minor Hockey Association and the South Fraser Daycare Society. Judy was an avid student and teacher and went on to instruct other childcare providers at Kwantlen College. In her final years, Judy was provided comfort and companionship by her faithful dog, Rocky, who introduced Dan and Judy to a new community at their local dog park. Judy would look forward to “Happy Hour” on Fridays and the company of other dog owners who she came to call friends.

A lover of art, museums, shopping, music, travel, adventure and her family, Judy is survived by her loving husband Daniel Keen, her sons Derek Keen (Laura) and Fraser Keen (Lisa), her beloved cousins Sheri Shawara (Darwyn) and Dave Rawson (Cyndy), many nieces and nephews and her three grandchildren Genevieve, Natalie and Peppin whom she adored and were undoubtedly her greatest treasure.

We will miss you for all the days to come and will carry your joyful laugh and beautiful smile with us forever.

A memorial service will be held at Victory Memorial Park at 14831 28 Avenue, Surrey on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow.
