Margaret Bergen

Margaret (Neufeld) Bergen was born on April 26, 1931 in Steinbach, Manitoba, to parents Herman and Sara (Bartel) Neufeld.

She was called to Heaven on October 24, 2023.

She is survived by her sons Alan (Francine) and Brian (Julie); grandchildren, Hannah, William, Matthew, Christopher; her brother Henry; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Herman and Sara and her siblings Willi, John and Hilda.

Margaret was born in Steinbach Manitoba, moving at the age of fourteen with her family to British Columbia, residing in the communities of Sardis and Aldergrove. Margaret became a Christian at a young age and grew up in a loving Christian home. While in her twenties she moved with her sister Hilda and a friend to Vancouver. She worked for a customs brokerage firm in Vancouver. She excelled at this job as she was blessed with impressive memory and math skills.

In 1962 Margaret married Jake Bergen. Eventually they welcomed 2 children into their family. After their retirement they moved to White Rock. Margaret’s biggest joy was brought by visits with any of her grandchildren. She was known as Grammy to her grandkids and they loved her very much.

Margaret and Jake enjoyed volunteering at their church in south Surrey.

Margaret was a loving wife and exceptional Mother always caring and providing. She will be deeply missed by her family.
