Marion Estella Currie Clydesdale Browning passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family.
Born on March 2, 1928, in London, Ontario, Marion devoted her life to caring for others. She married Bob Clydesdale in 1950 and they raised their Children in New Westminster, British Columbia, where their home was always full of warmth, laughter, and open doors. Known fondly as the neighbourhood mom, Marion welcomed not only her own children, but also their friends and the neighbourhood kids—anyone who needed a safe place, a listening ear, or a warm meal.
Marion was married to her husband, Bob Clydesdale, for over 50 years. She was predeceased by Bob in 2004 and by her beloved daughter Shirley. In 2009,
Marion married Albert Browning in 2009 and he passed away in 2022.
Family was at the heart of everything Marion did. She was a loving mother to Caroline (Jim), Peggy (Paul), Bill (Diana), and Donna (John). She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Donna Evans of Ontario, as well as many nieces and nephews in Ontario and British Columbia. Marion took immense pride and joy in her grandchildren: Marnie (Mark), Kimberly (Craig), Kelly (Sean), Jackie (Jeremy), Robin (Graham), Lindsay, Kenny, Ryan (Charlotte), and Danny. She was a cherished great-grandmother to Maya, Emerson, Sullivan, Holden, Brandon, Sophie, Cruz, Arabella, Lilliana, and Mya, Layla and Lennon each of whom brought her endless happiness.
A breast cancer survivor, Marion faced life’s challenges with quiet strength and resilience. She worked for over 20 years with the Department of Motor Vehicles and later gave her time generously as a volunteer at the Royal Columbian Hospital gift store. In every role she held, Marion was known for her kindness, dedication, and genuine care for others.
Marion will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Her home, her heart, and her arms were always open. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
