

Born December 24, 1925 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, daughter of Andrew and Margaret Stevenson, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2012 during a very brief hospital stay. She is survived by her sons, Jack (Ruth), Hamish (Vickie), and Bill (Lois), her grand-daughters, Jaime (Mitch), and Melissa (Daniel), and great-grandson, Mason, as well as step-grand-daughters, Kathan (Anthony), Rean (Rob), Jenna (Chris), Tamara (Trevor) and Nyssa and step-great-grandchildren Merrick, Riley, Lilly, Bennett, Aaron, Rayyen, Isaac, Kai and Jacob. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Sheila (Bob) Youds, Jessie Summerville and 3 sisters-in-law Dorothy Cowan, Margaret Waite, Inez McKenzie and brother-in-law Ken (Ernestine) Roper, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and other extended family members. She was pre-deceased by her husband John (Jack) Baxter Roper, her siblings John, Isabel, Hamish, Margaret, Catherine, Mickey, Andrew, Hugh and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Marion worked for many years at the White Rock Safeway as a cashier, and her joy in life was her family and friends. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 28 Avenue, South Surrey, B.C.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Turner and the nurses and staff from the emergency and ICU at Peace Arch Hospital for their professionalism and compassion.
