Mom/Merle had a brief stay in the hospital and was with our sister, Debra by her side when she passed.
Debra recalls her saying she heard Dad/Ron calling for her. Thank you Deb for being there!
Mom/Merle Grace was born at home on the family farm, August 31, 1933, near Waldron, Saskatchewan. Where she grew up until the family eventually moved to Enderby, BC. Mom/Merle graduated high school in Enderby and shortly thereafter she moved to Vancouver, BC to attend nursing school at St Paul's Hospital.
Mom met our father, Ron, there when he brought his best buddy, Lou into the ER with acute appendicitis, and promptly passed out!
Mom was there when he woke up and they were inseparable after that. They were married, November 13, 1954.
Mom worked as a nurse at St Paul's Hospital until their first daughter was born in September, 1955. After that they moved to Port Moody and she was a stay at home mother. Ron and Merle eventually settled in Coquitlam with two more daughters and a son. They remained in Coquitlam until the children left them empty nesters, and they retired to White Rock.
We would like to thank the staff at Crescent Gardens where Mom and Dad resided for the last 4 years, with great thanks to Simone and Hanosh for their special care and concern for both of our parents.
Also thank you to the staff at Peace Arch Hospital with special thanks to Dr Martin Lebl for his kindness and care of our Mother in her last days.

Grieve not for me
Nor mourn the while,
For happier would I be
To see you smile.
Let no tears fall
Since I have passed away,
But miss me and
Remember me each day.
Live you your lives
As I would want you to,
And treat thy fellowman
As I would do.
And when the time has come,
Your lives be through,
I shall be waiting here
For each of you.
