

Born in Trail, BC, on March 26, 1924, Mildred passed into the presence of her Lord on June 2, 2024 in White Rock, BC. Predeceased by her beloved husband, George, in 1987, she is survived by her two sons, Gordon and Alan, and their families; her brother, Raymond; nieces and nephews.
Mildred trained at normal school in Victoria and earned a B.Ed. from UBC. During her 33 years of teaching, a profession she loved, Mildred worked with many children in White Rock and Surrey, and she enjoyed every day in the classroom. In retirement, she kept informed and active in the community, her varied lifelong interests including volunteering, taking classes, gardening, painting, reading, entertaining her many friends and family members, and travelling across Canada and the US, and to Asia, Australia, the UK, and Europe. Mildred was active in a number of service organizations over her lifetime and especially enjoyed her involvement with Kiwanis, PEO, the University Women's Club, and the South Surrey Garden Club. She ice- skated, swam, and played badminton and tennis regularly until her later years. Her strong Christian faith sustained her, and she was involved in several local churches over the decades.
Mildred/Mom/Grandma/Great-Grandma/Auntie Mildred will be forever missed but also always loved and remembered.
Private burial and service. In memory of Mildred, donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission or the Salvation Army.
