Nancy was dearly loved and will be sadly missed. From the age of ten all she ever wanted was to be a good mother. Her four amazing children and two beautiful grandchildren are testament to her successful life. A devoted partner to her husband for 37 years, Nancy was the rock upon which her family was built.
Barry and Nancy met at the Ryerson Liberal Club. Nancy who was then the Young Liberals vice-president caught Barry’s eye and soon his heart.
Nancy graduated and became a registered nurse in 1974. She then travelled to Banff to join her fiancée at the Banff Springs Hotel. They were married at St. Marys in Banff and honeymooned in the Rockies before returning to Ontario to raise their family.
Nancy who had lived in one place until she was twenty, found herself moving frequently as the family followed Barry’s career to numerous towns and cities in Ontario. Eventually, the family was able to return to the mountains that Nancy so loved and ultimately the family’s dream home was built in Surrey BC. In 2003 Nancy and family came back to Ontario for what was to be only a short period of time. Her final wish was to return to the comfort she found in the Mountains.
Nancy had less time with us than we wanted and we are sad the time she had to enjoy love and happiness with her family was so much less than she deserved. We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting peacefully and we cherish the gift we were given in the time we had with this wonderful woman.
