As a boy, he survived the German occupation of Athens during World War II, enduring hunger and hardship that shaped his strength and deep gratitude for life. Those early years formed the character of a man who would never stop working to ensure his family was cared for.
In the 1960s, Nick bravely emigrated to Canada, carrying little more than hope and determination. He built a life rooted in hard work, humility, and steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. His faith guided him, strengthened him, and sustained him through every season.
He shared 54 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Panayiota, building a family that became his greatest pride and joy.
He was a devoted father to Taso (Carrie), John (Patti), and Spiridoula “Julie” (Brian). A proud and loving Papou to Nicholas, Evan, Sophia, Christina, Stephanie, Emily, Christopher, Anna, and Brady.
Nick found joy in life’s simple pleasures — tending to his garden and proudly growing his tomatoes, watching hockey, and passionately cheering for his beloved Olympiacos F.C. No matter where he lived, his homeland of Greece remained in his heart.
From wartime hunger to a life of stability and blessing, Nick’s journey is a testament to perseverance, sacrifice, and faith. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down: work hard, stay humble, protect your family, and never forget where you came from.
As Scripture reminds us:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7
And:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
— Joshua 24:15
We remember the boy who survived.
We honor the man who crossed oceans.
We celebrate the husband, father, grandfather, and friend who gave more than he ever took.
Είναι με τον Κύριο και αναπαύεται στην αιώνια ειρήνη.
(He is with the Lord and rests in eternal peace.)
