Reta Warwick was born March 6, 1918, in Ottawa, Ontario and passed away on April 9, 2016, in Surrey, BC. Predeceased by her husband Joe of 70 years and survived by her son Garry, two grandchildren Samantha (David de Vlieger) and Matthew (Elizabeth Baird), an expansive web of extended family in Eastern Canada, and an abundance of wonderful friends and close, caring neighbours.
Reta carried the ‘luck of the Irish’ wherever she went, a walking four-leaf-clover, from lottery tickets to draw prizes. She was an expert card player and a bowling champion. She enjoyed intrepid adventures, embarking on road trips with Joe and their crew of friends for tournaments, coining themselves ‘The Six Pack’. Reta was warm, curious, always receptive to celebrations of all kinds, to seeing new places and having a good time. She was undaunted by dinner-table political debates, so long as everyone was always adequately fed and watered.
Her generous spirit was unwavering, and while she gave tender care to the many plants that filled sunlit corners of her home, she was most devoted to the wellbeing of her family and friends, and community.
