Robert Grant Tilbe

We are devastated to share the unexpected passing of Robert Tilbe on February 4th, 2026. Rob was born on August 29th, 1966 in Vancouver, BC. He is survived by his loving partner Karen, his father Norman, brothers Mark(Dwayne) and Michael. He is predeceased by mother Roberta and sister Louise(Jeff). When Robert and Karen became a couple he was welcomed into the family by Karen’s daughter Kaleena(Ken), sister Susan(Stephen) and mother-in-law Kirsten. The birth of Kaleena’s daughter Kaia brought great joy to Robert and the entire family. Robert was liked by everyone that knew him and he will be missed by his many friends.

Rob was the most kind, patient and genuine person; except behind the wheel. He was a classic prankster, always looking for his next victim. He loved pulling out his chainsaw and going to the forest to get firewood. He kept us warm at Whistler with all his lumberjack skills. Rob was a guy’s guy, “if Rob can’t fix it, it’s unfixable”. Rob made the best lasagna, feeding so many friends and family. He always looked forward to his Vegas holidays and annual three week road trip with a few rum and cokes enjoyed.

Rob was the best grandpa. He would get so excited when Kaia was coming over. He safety-proofed everything so she was always safe. Rob loved his robes so his nickname was “Grandpa Robe”.

Rob’s beautiful, sparkling, blue eyes and pirate laugh will forever be remembered.

“Hey Rob, what are you doing?” “Just facebooking and looking at the view.”
