

Rolande was born into a large family, 8th of 18 children to Louis and Rhea Gaudet on September 17, 1946, in St. Isidore De Bellevue, Saskatchewan. Rolande graduated high school in 1965 and then attended nursing school in 1965-66. She was married to Edmond Joseph Gendron in 1967 at which time they moved to British Columbia to start their family. Rolande began her career as a nurse at Riverview Hospital but later transitioned into clerical work at the Surrey Court House. Rolande worked in Court Services for 30 years, constantly advancing her career until retiring as Justice of the Peace for Minister of Attorney General. After retirement, she found great pride in helping care for her grandchildren.
Rolande is survived by her loving husband Edmond; her children, Darcy (and his wife, Michelle) and Marc (and his wife, Brenda); and her grandchildren Trevor and Kaitlyn; her sisters Geraldine, Lise, Clemence, Marie and Olive; and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Rolande growing up on a farm is most likely where her love for nature and animals began, she had a green thumb, always wanting to investigate unusual flowers and plants. She enjoyed traveling, camping, gardening, genealogy and musicals. Family was a very important part of her life; she cherished every moment spent with loved ones and found immense joy in being surrounded by them, as well as finding comfort in her faith. She was kind, compassionate, patient and understanding. Had a great sense of humor and beautiful smile. She touched the hearts and lives of everyone who knew her.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 11:00 AM, St. Mathews Church, 16079 88th Ave., Surrey.
The burial will be held on March 4 at 1:30 PM, Sunnyside Lawn Cemetary, 14850 28th Ave.Surrey.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to remember this remarkable woman who touched all our lives.
