

Steven Arthur de Lange, 79 years old, passed away in Abbotsford on August 18th. Steven was born on March 24th, 1938 in Nkana, a small mining town in Northern Rhodesia, an African country now known as Zambia. Raised and educated in Kkana, it was from there that Steven, along with his young wife “Charlie” (Margaret) and their infant son, left for Canada in 1966. Along time resident of Aldergrove, Steven is deeply missed by his wife, their two sons Jack and Arthurs, granddaughters Keira and Caitlin, his sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and many friends, throughout the world. His parents, Stephanus and Wilhelmina (Ford), his brother Derek, nephews Colin and Gary, and niece, Patricia all predeceased him. A talented rider in his youth, he loved all forms of motor cycle racing. The highlight of his many travel adventures was riding the Isle of Man course with his son, Art. Steven was especially a great fan of MotoGP and of rugby. Donations to Stepping Stone Society, Supported Work Program are welcome in his memory. There will be a gathering for family and friends to share their many happy memories of ‘Mr. Fixit’, his renowned humor, and his smile that lit up the room, at his home on the afternoon of September 3rd. “Let’s have a braii” Hambe Kahle Oupa.
