Vic was born near Humboldt, Saskatchewan, where he spent his early years surrounded by his 9 siblings on their family farm. As a teenager, he went to Ontario in search of new opportunities and eventually made his way to British Columbia, where he built a life and career rooted in hard work and community.
Vic dedicated many years to British Columbia’s forest industry, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and steady presence. He took great pride in his work and in being part of an industry that helped shape the province.
Vic was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years Gerry, his parents, and eight of his nine siblings. He is survived by his youngest brother Henry, his loving daughters Lyn and Diane (Jack), as well as his 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who were the true lights of his life and his greatest joy.
A man of many passions, Vic loved organizing family reunions and bringing people together for any reason. He had a love for sports, community, singing, and making everyone around him laugh. His warmth, humor, and ability to bring people together will be remembered with affection by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on May 22, 2025 at Fraser Heights Chapel located at 14835 Fraser Hwy, Surrey, BC at 11:00 AM, with a reception following immediately.
God looked around his garden
And found an empty space;
He then looked down upon this earth
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest;
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you might never
Get well upon this earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace be thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
