Cecil R. Davis

Cecil R. Davis, age 90 of Somerset, died Sunday, September 18, 2011 in Clifton Rehabilitative and Nursing Care Center. Born in Newport, Rhode Island, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (McInnis) Davis. She lived in Connecticut, western Pennsylvania, and Boothbay Harbor, Maine, before moving to Swansea in the 1950’s, and Sycamore Terrace in Somerset in the 1960’s.

A graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School, class of 1939, she worked as the head trimmer at the former Jodi Sue Manufacturing Company in Fall River for 25 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Happy Seniors Club of Somerset and the U.N.I.T.E. Textile Workers Union.

She is survived by one brother; Charles P. Davis of Swansea, two nieces; Deborah Guimond and her husband Kevin and Cynthia Davis and her husband Gary Huntress all of Swansea, two nephews; Donald Davis and his wife Patti of Swansea and New Hampshire and Randal Davis and his wife Sheila of Swansea, and many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Hazel M. Davis.

Her Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd. Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to her service from 9:30 to 11:00AM. Burial private.
