

David A. Smith, age 76, of Swansea, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Kimwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Theresa M. (Boudreau) Smith, to whom he had been married for the past 57 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late William and Dolores (Arruda) Smith, he lived in Swansea for 48 years.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1967, David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Roger Williams University. A Veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War.
Prior to his retirement, David worked as Director of Facilities for Saint Antione Residence in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. David was employed by the Diocese of Providence for over 45 years. His favorite times were spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Michelle Moreira and her husband Tony, Kevin Smith and his wife Kathy, and Jason Smith all of Swansea; two brothers, Wayne Smith and his wife Barabra of FL, Jeffrey Smith and his wife Diane of Tiverton; ten grandchildren, Amanda Moreira and her partner Adam Olarte, Jacob and Tyler Moreira, Ashley Smith and her wife Morgan Smith, Ariele, Evangeline, Aidan and Aaron Smith, Aaron and Kiera Haynes; eight great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Samuel and Cole Olarte, Laylah, Elijah, Aliyah, Liliy and Cameron Smith as well as several nieces and nephews. David was the brother of the late William N. Smith, Jr. and Donna M. Bernier.
His Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Burial to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne at 12:45 PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
