Dennis E. Moglia

Born in Swansea a son of the late Andrew and Anna (Denis) Moglia, survived by two daughters, Renee Moglia and her partner Gail Romare and Marchelle Moreira and husband Albert, both from Swansea; one brother, Andrew Moglia and his wife Lil; one sister, Shirley Camara, both from New Hampshire; three grandchildren, Ashlee, Daniel and Natasha and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Loree Moglia Mullen and the brother of the late Doris Davis.

He was a proud Teamster of Local 251 out of Rhode Island working for Roger Williams Foods/SuperValu for 37 years. Before retiring in the year 2000, he grew up in Swansea, a small country town, when times were simpler; car hops, drive-ins, and washing cars down at the brook. Learning how to dance in his friend’s basement with the prettiest girl in town, his wife-to-be. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing softball, racquetball, and bowling, eventually changing over to golfing with his family and lifelong friends. He had three holes-in-one in his time playing, all at Rehoboth golf courses.A lifelong member of the Warren Portuguese American Club in Warren R.I. He was also the guy in the neighborhood who took care of all of his aging neighbors that he knew for a lifetime, mowing their lawns, putting in their air conditioners always on the hottest day, and watching their houses whether they were out or on vacation. He was the protector of all of us; our mom always said she married a good man.

His Funeral Service will be Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea followed by burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
