

Born in Babylon, NY a son of the late George and Caroline (Gosk) Brush he was a longtime resident of Swansea.
Proud to serve his country, he was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Brush was a Branch Manager for Griggs and Browne Co. Inc., working for 40 years before his retirement.
Besides his grandchildren which he adored very much, Poppy was an avid gardener, anything he touched would grow. Every Spring-time his yard was a picture perfect post card for everyone to see. Perfectly planted in unimaginable straight rows were various flowers of all types. If Ed didn’t have dirt all over his hands and clothes from maintaining his various gardens he wasn’t happy.
He never refused a good old fashioned jelly stick and loved decorating for Christmas, going out for long drives, visits to Maine and his lighthouse collection.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Edward G. Brush, Jr. and his wife MaryEllen of Springfield, Carrie Jennings and her husband William of Fall River, Walter M. Brush and his wife Maria of Somerset and Joan Medeiros and her husband Michael of Swansea; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held prior from 10:00AM-12:00PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at: https://www.stjude.org/donate. Burial will be private.
