Born in Fall River daughter of the late Bernard J. and Laura (Lavergne) Britland and a graduate of Durfee High School. She was employed for about five years as a secretary at Prudential Life Insurance Company then she worked for about six years as the switchboard operator at the former Truesdale Hospital and finally was employed for sixteen years in the shoe department of Walmart in Raynham. When her children were young she was a den mother in the cub scouts in Somerset.
Surviving two sons; Kendall L. Stone and his wife Jennifer of Warwick, RI and Scott D. Stone and his wife Barbara of Dighton, MA, one brother; Donat Britland of Fall River and one sister; Christine Ruess and her husband Richard of Sharon, MA, four grandchildren; Anna, Ashley, Samuel and Kyle Stone. She was also sister of the late Russell Britland.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 10AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardner’s Neck Road, Swansea. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset. Visitation will be Sunday 4pm-7pm.
