

Mr. McCormack was born in Fall River, the son of the late Anthony B. McCormack and Honora (Winney) McCormack and educated in the Fall River School System. He was employed by Firestone, Skelly Detectives and more recently, Quaker Fabrics until his retirement 22 years ago. An honorably discharged Marine, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Swansea. He loved to go to Foxwoods in his leisure time. He liked helping his neighbors and friends at Martin Court. He loved to take long walks daily. A wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be sadly missed.
Mr. McCormack is survived by his children; Paul McCormack of Swansea, Patricia “Trish” Gersbach and her husband Randy of Fall River, Sheila Davis and her husband Randy of Swansea, Grandchildren; James R. Correia, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Seattle, Washington, Christine Gouveia and Brenda Gostanian of Fall River, Erin Davis and RC (Randal) Davis of Swansea, his great-grandchildren; Richard and Alyssa Gouveia of Fall River and Arianna Davis of Swansea and Kianna Louisor of Seattle, Washington and his brother; James McCormack of Somerset. Also survived by dear friends Lily Geary, Dot Tremblay and Aaron Agrawal all of Swansea. Mr. McCormack was the brother of the late Rita Gaskell and Bernard McCormack.
His funeral will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 9am from WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea with a funeral mass at 10am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
