

Joseph R. Laliberte, age 75, of Swansea, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 in St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of Pauline D. (Rioux) Laliberte to whom he would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with this June.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph A. and Rose (Noiseux) Laliberte, he had been a resident of Swansea since 1972.
He worked as a Truck Driver for D&N Transportion for over twenty-five years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 251 and later was a member of the Teamsters Retirees. He was also a member of the Fall River Rod and Gun Club. Mr. Laliberte enjoyed traveling especially to the Caribbean. His best times spent were with his family and his beloved dog Maggie.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son: Stephen R. Laliberte and his wife Susanna, one daughter: Donna B. Borges both of Bristol, RI, three sisters: Annette Mello, Doris Bourget both of Fall River, Cecile Guimar of Tiverton, RI, four grandchildren: Amanda, Kelsey, and Lindsey Borges and Benjamin Laliberte, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Yvette Laliberte.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 9:00AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in his honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
