

Born in Savannah, Georgia, a son of Ann Mercure Kruger of East Providence, he spent his youth in Holliston, MA and graduated Holliston High School, Class of 1963. He attended the Cambridge School of Broadcasting and then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War before settling in Swansea in 1975.
Larry was known throughout the area for his 20 years broadcasting at 63 WPRO-AM, 16 of which he served as Salty Brine’s sidekick on the 63 WPRO morning show. In May of 2011 he was inducted into the Rhode Island Radio Hall of Fame.
Larry had a passion for tennis – both playing and watching - and announced several tournament matches at the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother: one daughter Kristine Munroe of RI; a stepdaughter: Jodi Morris and her husband Matthew of Lincoln, RI; a stepson: Sean Chrobak of North Smithfield, RI; two sisters: Suzanne Kruger of East Providence, RI and Karen Chraim of Sleepy Hollow, NY; two brothers: Kurt and Richard Kruger; a father-in-law Donald Peters of PA and two 2 grandsons: Cameron and Ty Morris as well as several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:30AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. His family will greet friends from 9:30 – 10:30 in the funeral home prior to his service. Contributions in his honor may be made to A Wish Come True, 1010 Warwick Ave, Warwick, RI 02888. Burial private.
