Born in Fall River, a son of the late Manuel and Helen (Borge) Ferreira, he was a lifelong Swansea resident. A graduate of Case High School, class 1965, Michael was veteran of the United States Army, serving honorably in the Vietnam War. He was a long time local mechanic and woodworker until his retirement in 2009. Michael was a kind and generous man and a beloved brother, uncle, and friend.
Michael is survived by four sisters; Eileen Fernandes of Swansea, Mary Soares and her husband John of Rehoboth, Frances Ferreira of Moore, Oklahoma and Catherine Graham of Rogersville, Tennessee and two brothers; Dr. Thomas J. Petrouski and his wife Jacqueline of Assonet and Timothy Riendeau Sr. and his wife Karen of Warren, RI. He was the brother of the late Edward Ferreira of Swansea.
