Richard A. Montour

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Harvey Sr. and Rita (Levesque) Montour.

A graduate of Diman Regional Vocational High School, he worked as an Electrician for Gemco Electric for 37 years before retiring in 2016.

An avid New England Patriots fan, Richard was a season ticket holder. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Tiverton, enjoyed bowling, golfing and could often be found among friends at Simply Simon’s Restaurant in Swansea.

He is survived by two brothers, Harvey Montour and his wife Claudette of Fall River and Paul Montour and his wife Susan of New Hampshire; two nephews, David Montour and his wife Karen of Westport and Matthew Montour and his wife Meghan of Pepperell; one niece, Denise Ponte and her husband Cliff of Fall River; close friend & caretaker, Rita Gillen and her husband Jack of Swansea and three great-nieces and nephews, Timothy Ponte, Clifford Ponte, Jr. and Margaux Montour. Richard was the uncle of the late Paul Jr. and Jamie Montour.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 9:00 AM in Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea.
