Virginia Medeiros

Virginia D. Medeiros, Ginni, of Swansea, MA passed away Friday, December 16th after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband Roland, who recently passed away on November 21st, 2022.

Ginni was born in Pawtucket, RI on August 19th, 1940, to John M. and Hilda G. (Gregory) Doll.

Mrs. Medeiros made her home in Swansea, MA for close to 50 years. She spent her life educating children as a teacher in the Pawtucket school district.

Ginni was an avid knitter and reader who always had a soft spot for animals but mostly she loved her family. She would often say she wished we all could live together.

Family members include her daughter and son in law Kelli and Joseph Rapoza: five grandchildren: Jacob, Samantha, Jill, Joseph and Noah; nephew Greg Povey and wife Kerry; nephew Jay Povey and wife Trisha; niece Ginni Plourde and husband Jim. She will continue to hold a spot in all her loved one’s hearts.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 1030am to 1130am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardeners Neck Road, Swansea followed by a Service in the funeral home at 1130am. All are welcome. Burial will be at the Christ Church Cemetery, Swansea. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Swansea Animal Shelter, 68 Stevens Road, Swansea, MA 02777
