Born in Mansfield, Bill was the son of the late Eugene A. and Alfreda L. (Hebard) Hardy. He was a graduate of Foxborough High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany.
Following his military service, Bill worked in maintenance at Building #19 and later as a security officer for several local businesses. Known for his friendly nature and strong work ethic, Bill left a lasting impression on those he worked with and cared for.
Bill had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He enjoyed fishing, collecting knives, and going out to eat. A lifelong fan of professional wrestling, he occasionally stepped into the ring himself under the name “Wild Man from Walpole.” Above all, Bill cherished spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and moments of connection.
He is survived by his devoted companion, May Coelho of Swansea, and his siblings: Jacqueline Hardy of El Paso, TX; Sharron Zapor of Mapleville, RI; and Dennis Hardy of North Attleboro. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his siblings Eugene Hardy, Warren Hardy, Robert Hardy, Norman Hardy, Charlene Courbron, and Judy Hardy.
His visitation will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
