William Michaud

William O. Michaud, age 80, of Swansea, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Lauretta R. (Potvin) Michaud with whom he celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on January 26th of this year.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Oliver and Loretta (Lavoie) Michaud, he attended Msgr. Prevost High School, class of 1953. He spent his early years in Fall River and lived in Dartmouth for 35 years before moving to Swansea in 2013. For 30 years, Bill was the owner and operator of Kennedy Butter and Eggs Specialty Foods Store in Providence, retiring in 2000. He was an area supervisor at Dairymart Stores for 5 years, then district supervisor for D.B. Mart Stores for 3 years. Bill was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, enjoyed walking, was an avid reader and a New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, William A. Michaud and his companion Patricia of New Bedford, Paul M. Michaud and his wife Patricia of N. Dartmouth, Norman M. Michaud of Somerset; a daughter S. Elaine Michaud of S. Hampton; two brothers, Roger Michaud and his wife Mary of Westport and Charles Michaud and his wife Patricia of Fall River; two grandsons Marc and Michael Michaud, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Gerald Michaud.

His Funeral will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 8:30AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea followed by his Funeral Mass at 10AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea.
