Charles Lawrence Taylor passed away peacefully at the Northside Community Guest Home on October 20, 2011, with his family by his side. Born in Sydney Mines on August 21, 1918 he was a son of the late Charles L. and Jean (Donovan) Taylor. Charles was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Charles was known as a sharply dressed man who always wore his “Stetson hat” tilted to one side, He was raised catholic, and along his journey, married Margaret Williston and raised a big family, including many grandchildren. After his retirement he developed a great love for nature and animals, a passion for music and dancing, and enjoyed building and construction as a past time, as well as being an avid card player. His grandchildren kept his life busy and full of surprises. He will be remembered most for his life- long compassion to others and his willingness to lend a hand whenever needed.
