I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Newton.  She was my lunch lady at the Old Bras d'Or Elementary.  I have to tell you, although you probably already know,  she was the nicest woman.  I used to love seeing her everyday with Cleo and Rose.  She used to always peel my orange for me, even though she used to say "You're going to have to do this yourself tomorrow, Margaret.  I have phony nails and it's not good for them." but every day, if I asked her, she would peel my orange.  When I left Bras d'Or, it broke my heart that I would never see those ladies again as they were such a part of my childhood.   I thought when I left Bras d'Or, I would never see them again. 
Many years later, as a grown adult, a remember meeting Mrs. Newton in the grocery store.  She knew exactly who I was and gave me the biggest hug.  She took me back to the days of Bras d'Or school.  She was always so proud of me for what I was doing and always said "Drop down and see me some day, I'm right by the tracks"  I always regretted never stopping in.  
I hope you find comfort in the days to come.  I know you have lost a big part of your family.  Mrs. Newton was one in a million and she shaped my childhood.  I will be forever grateful to have been a part of her life.  xxx

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Newton's passing. She was a lunch lady during my time at Bras d'Or Elementary and I liked her so much; she was kind and witty and always had a twinkle in her eye.  

I am so sorry to hear of Una's passing. She was a wonderful lady who I first met while Principal of Bras D'Or Elementary. She was so loving in giving of herself doing the breakfast program daily for the children at the school. Ever cheerful and full of pep, Una always had time for a chat or to share a story. Her lovely smile, her laugh, and her glowing personality will never be forgotten. God bless, Una - rest in a well-deserved peace!

My condolences to Una's family. Una was a wonderful lady with a smile that came from her heart. Una worked with me at Bras d'Or Elementary where the children loved her. Always kind and helpful,she will be fondly remembered by many. Rest in Peace Una.

We were very lucky. I know your Una fought a brave battle. I spoke with Una on the telephone quite a  few times over the past year. God bless her and all of you at this time of sorrow.
