It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Alexina Jane Johnson “Jitch-Jane”, on Saturday February 9 at the age of 60. Alexina was born May 1, 1964 in Sydney to Howard and Ethel (Gould) Johnson.
Alexina was a cherished partner, daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and sister passed away unexpectedly, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who loved her.
Through her time with us was far too short, her laughter, sense of humour, and beautiful smile will continue to shine through the lives she touched. As we grieve this sudden loss, we take comfort in the words, “Sometimes, the most beautiful souls are called home to soon, for their light was never meant to fade to shine from above”.
Alexina is survived by her children; Quentin Terrence, and Gearl Michael, her mother Ethel (Gould) Johnson, her partner Milton Campbell, siblings Diane, Howard, & Arlene (Gee), Karen, Shelia and Phillip (Michelle) Johnson. Alexina is also blessed with grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Alexina was predeceased by her father Howard Johnson, brother Rodney Johnson and her aunt Eunice Gould.
Visitation for Alexina “Jitch-Jane” will begin on Thursday February 20, 2025, 7:00pm at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will be Saturday February 22, 2025, 10:00 am at the Holy Family Parish in Eskasoni with Fr. Antolin Asor and Deacon Tom Sylliboy officiating. Salite will take place following the mass in the Gabriel Centre. Inurnment in the parish cemetery, will be held at a later date.
