Born in Sydney on March 26, 1958, Anne was the daughter of the late Danny and Hazel MacIntyre. Anne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kevin, her daughters Melissa (Dave) and Lori (Stewart), her granddaughters Natalie and Charlotte, her siblings Marg, Donald (Brenda), Joe (Jeanette), and Duncan (Ann), five nephews and nieces, ten great-nephews and great-nieces, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Anne worked at the Sydney City Hospital and then the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for over 33 years, mostly in the Information Systems department. During her time in the department, Anne was known and appreciated for her strong work ethic and her collaborative and respectful interactions with all colleagues. She was fortunate to love her work.
Anne and Kevin travelled the world together, including Hawaii, Cuba, Barbados, Aruba, Bora Bora, China, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Belgium, Rome, Venice, Scotland, Alaska, Las Vegas, and more. She toured the ruins of Greece with Lori and created beautiful memories during several trips to Disney World with Melissa, Natalie, and Charlotte. At home, Anne enjoyed decorating for all holidays and hosting family and friends for special occasions. Over the years, Anne found comfort in her faith, and she was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Fatima congregation.
The family sincerely thanks the nurses on unit 3B and the palliative unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the staff of Osprey Angels for their care, kindness, and companionship during Anne’s final weeks. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Gregory Myatt for providing Anne with years of exceptional care.
