It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Joseph Sylliboy Jr. , 47 of Eskasoni at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

Born in Sydney, he was the son of Alexanderine ‘Popsy’ (Paul) and the late Anthony Joseph Sylliboy Sr. .

Anthony will always be remembered for his kind heartedness and gentle nature. He was a sports fan and an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

He is survived by his son Kyle Francis, grandson Aiden Francis, both of Springhill; sisters Mary (John Frank) Toney, Eskasoni; Claudia Sylliboy, Truro; Aelorise Sylliboy, Eskasoni; only godchild Chelsea Sylliboy, Eskasoni; aunts Elizabeth Bernard, Waycobah; Sarah (Ronnie) Boutlier, Bernadette Marr, Sharon (Carl) Boutlier, Catherine Tomer; uncles Donald Paul, Bernie Syliboy, Vincent Syliboy, Peter (Lori) Syliboy, Andrew Syliboy, all from Indian Brook; nephew Ricci Sylliboy; nieces Chelsea Sylliboy, Taylor Sylliboy, Janna Toney and great nephews Tayson and Nathan Sylliboy, Esksoni. He will be sadly missed by his good friends Brent and Mohan Stevens.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Isaac & Alice Syliboy, paternal grandparents, Charles Sylliboy and Florence and John Denny; uncles Alfred & Fredrick Sylliboy and godparents Stephen Stevens and Lorraine Sylliboy.

Visitation for Mr. Sylliboy will begin after 7 pm on Monday, January 25 at the Gabriel Center, Eskasoni. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Holy Family Church with Rev. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
