We the family, announce with sadness in our hearts the peaceful passing of a loving partner and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ashley Rose Morris in her home, on June 3, 2023. Born Sept 26, 1983 in Brockton Massachusetts, she was the daughter of James and Shirley Morris.
Ashley was a hardworking and loving mother who valued time spent with her family. She was a social butterfly who made friends everywhere she went and with people from all walks of life. She loved to travel, shop and go camping, especially in Old Orchard, Maine. Ashley worked hard all her life in the retail industry and also showcased her creative side making beautiful beaded earrings and custom wreaths. Ashley loved sports, particularly hockey cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs and football rooting for the New England Patriots, photography and listening to music. She will be dearly missed by her family, her community and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be especially missed by her jolly boy Van Jr.
Ashley is survived by her spouse Richard, daughter Ashlyn, step daughter Shaelyn, parents James and Shirley, grandson Ashtyn, as well as her siblings; Lucina, Mary Ann, Stephen, James Jr., Van and Corey. Ashley also leaves behind her godchildren; Kayleen, Hunter, Kavaughn, Christian, and Corson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and a large extended family. Ashley is predeceased by her sister Renee, godfather Charlie, paternal grandparents Edward and Nancy, maternal grandparents Daniel and Rita and many other loved ones.
Visitation for Ashley will begin on Saturday, June 10th after 7pm, at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12th at 10:00am, with Fr.
