Belinda was a beloved member of Eskasoni First Nation. She worked for 34 years at the Eskasoni School Board as a Post-Secondary Educator and spent 9 years with Eskasoni Social Development. She had such a positive impact on many lives over the years and was well respected not only in her own community but all over. She was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Family Parish, but dedicated herself first and foremost to her family as a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was selfless and gave of herself freely to those in need. Belinda was known for her wonderful personality and sense of humor. She loved going on trips to St. Anne’s Mission in Chapel Island. Belinda will be dearly missed by her coworkers at the school board and anyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Belinda is survived by her loving husband Ralph, her children; Bradley (Ariel), Larry, John (Tori),and Tammy (Weldon Patales); godmother Eleanor Johnson, grandchildren; Jasmine “Jazz”, Bradley “B2”, Rossco , Tegan, Mary Jane, Gordon, Julie, Deanne, as well as Larry, Dean, Karl, Christopher and their mother Alexina. Belinda also leaves to mourn her sisters; Georgina Lorna, and Isabel Lynn, brothers; Lindsay (Vivian), Lawrence (Rosie), Stanley (Natalie), Aubrey, Ruben (Ann), Irving (Lesley) and Kenneth. Belinda also leaves behind her beloved godchildren; Jeremiah Johnson, Mag Morrison, Andrea Paul, Riley Johnson, Meadow Paul, Sanwel Paul, Danielle Blynn Sylliboy and Myrna Francis.
Belinda is predeceased by her son Christopher, brothers Nathan and Darrell, granddaughter Aspen, parents Lawrence and Betty Paul, grandparents; John (Sanwel) and Margaret Paul, and John G. and Bridget Sylliboy. Belinda is also predeceased by her in laws Dan K. and Mary Jane Stevens, sister in law Dorothy MacPhee, god father John W. Sylliboy and Angie Stevens.
Visitation will begin Thursday, Oct 27th at 7pm, at the Gabriel Center in Eskasoni. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct 29th at Holy Family Church at 10:30am, with Fr.
