It is with profound sadness that the family of Bridget Ann Denny announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the age of 65 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Bridget will be dearly missed by her loving children: Amanda, Lynn (David), DG (Pamela), Leonard (MaryI), Jennylee (Umchilla), Sheraine (Inkin), and her beloved spouse of 22 years, Russel Gould. Bridget is also survived by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and step children; Frank, Elizabeth, Valene, Tashema, Robin, Wade, Cassidy, Keaton, Russell Jr. and Joseph, 4 godchildren Marion, Levi, Clara and Charles Jr., as well as her godparents Josephine Paul and Albert Marshall Sr., brother Andrew Galli Paul (Darlene), aunts Virginia Googoo , Josephine Paul and very special cousin Vera Denny along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Keptin Levi and Clara Denny, Bridget is also predeceased by her birth mother Isabel Paul, former husband Dennis Francis, brothers Walter, Charles and Leonard Denny, sisters Bernice Marshall and Paula Paul, and her 2 step-grandchildren Lynten and Caslyn.
Bridget started her working career at Denny’s General Store and continued working throughout the community of Eskasoni until she retired from her position with the Eskasoni Band Office.
Bridget was an avid and lifelong Boston Bruins fan who will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour and quick wit. She absolutely adored her children and grandchildren, and you would often hear how proud she was to be “Grandma.” Bridget was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of the Eskasoni Holy Family Parish and enjoyed her many pilgrimages to St. Anne de Beaupre.
