

She was born in Poulamon, Richmond County, and spent most of her life in Halifax and Montreal working for the CPR and later the CNR. She was a generous supporter of the Canadian Red Cross, The Society of St. Jude, The Salvation Army, The War Amps of Canada, The Canadian Cancer Society, The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation (Cancer Centre and An Cala), The QE11 Foundation, St. Anne De Beaupré, Heart and Stroke Foundation, St Augustine's Parish and many other worthy causes.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Remie and Clara Ann (Landry) Fougere. She is also predeceased by her brothers Louis and Raymond Fougere, her sister Mary Ellen Poirier, and her husband Tom Mullaly.
Evelyn is survived by her nephew Louis (Marjorie) Fougere of Sydney and nieces Jean (Bill) Berry and Linda (Bob) Silva both of California, Diane, Maura and Gloria of Halifax. She is also survived by many great nieces and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are by TW Curry Parkview Chapel. At her request there no visitation. A farewell service will be held at Parkview Chapel on Wednesday, Feb 15 at 7:30 pm with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating.
