It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donnie Landry at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Aug. 18, 2013, with his loving family by his side.
Born in D’Escousse, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn Mae (Fougere) Landry.
Donnie worked at the Canadian Coast Guard College as a chef for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a scout leader with Scouts Canada for over 25 years.
Donnie is survived by wife, Mary Jane (MacKinnon); son, Ronnie MacKinnon, Sydney; sisters, Joan (Bert) Therrien and Annette Landry, both of Ontario, and Alice Marie (Kevin) Ford, East Bay; brothers, Gerard and Wayne, both of Sydney; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Donnie will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Diabetic Association of Nova Scotia or the renal dialysis unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
