It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Mary (nee March) Holland-Fleming, 80, on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Sydney, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Bill and Mary (Briand) March, longtime residents of Havelock St.
Dorothy was a longtime employee of both Xavier College and UCB. She was also a lifelong member of Sacred Heart CWL, a volunteer of various charities including Palliative Care and Each One Teach One.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her husband Ken Fleming, her loving daughter Mary (Mark) Grist, Sydney; stepchildren Sharie-Lynn and Alan Fleming, Cobourg, ON. She is also survived by three sisters, Tina (Colin) MacGillivaray, Halifax; Eileen Michaud, Montreal and Mildred (Tom) Hennessey, Kentville; her four brothers Bill, Scarborough; Gordon, Cobourg; Mike (Jean), Winnipeg and George (Yvonne), Sydney.
She was predeceased by her first husband Eddy Holland, sisters Vivian MacInnis and Janet MacGillivray and brother Len March.
Visitation for Dorothy Holland-Fleming will take place on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 16 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to staff of 4A at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
