Edward "Eddy" Joseph Joe

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing on Friday, November 28, 2025, of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and caring friend Edward Joseph Joe. He was a longtime resident of Kiknu and passed after a long battle with Dementia.

Edward was born on October 11, 1948 to the late John and Mary Isabel (Googoo) Joe. Edward was a hard worker. As a trade carpenter & cabinet maker, his handiwork can be seen all over his community of Eskasoni.

He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Barbara, children Lesley (Irving), Jason (Hillary) and Jennifer (Noel). He was a devoted grandfather to 9 grandchildren: Kristen, Ann, Taylor, Adara, Jacen, Jaina, Skyler, Jaxon and Eddy, 5 great grandchildren Jayden, Adrianna, Dymond, Raya and Greyson.

He also leaves siblings Kenneth Lafford and Kevin Lafford, godchildren Eleanor Joe, William Young, Bernadina Young, Leon Francis, Garret Cabot, Heather Lewis, Stephanie Francis and Matthew Paul and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents Edward was predeceased by siblings: Mary Tena Young, Mary Francis, Mary Theresa Joe, Levi Joe, Wilfred Joe, Benedict Joe, Karl Lafford, John Lafford and Fabian Joe and 2 godchildren Joe Joe and Levi Lafford.

Visitation will take place at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni starting at 7pm on Sunday, December 7th and continuing until the start of the Mass at 10am on Tuesday, December 9th at Holy Family Church, 50 Gabriel St., Eskasoni.
