Eunice Ann Fiander Siwak

(1927-2010)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Eunice on Monday, November 22, 2010 at home.

Eunice was born in English Harbour West, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland and was the daughter of the late William and Mary Fiander.

She resided most of her life in Whitney Pier, later to move to Maple Ridge Manor, Sydney.

Eunice was a member of St. Mary’s Polish Church. She enjoyed her evenings at the Maple Ridge Manor playing cards, bingo and attending the many socials in the common room. She looked forward to Wednesday bingo and loved going for drives and for something to eat with the family and calling all the children every evening to say good night. She was a very devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Eunice is survived by her five children, Bill (Miriam), Sydney River; Cathy (Roy) Mugford, Glace Bay; Richard (Patti), Ontario; Colleen MacLennan, Sydney and David (Lisa), Halifax. Also survived are her grandchildren, Cynthia (Steve) Miller, Kyle (Terre) Siwak, Roy (Michelle) Mugford, Paul (Erin) Mugford, Lindsey and Ryan Siwak, Allan (Cindy) MacLennan, Adam (Rachelle) MacLennan, step children Kenny and Cassie Butts, her great grandchildren Nathan and Sarah Mugford , Lilly and Rebecca MacLennan., brothers Bill (Jean), Ralph (Margaret) Fiander, Newfoundland and sister-in-law Eileen, Amherst, N.S.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Roman, brother Cecil and sister Clarissa Evans, Newfoundland.

Visitation for Mrs. Siwak will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m with the funeral service taking place on Thursday at 11 am from the Parkview Chapel with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
