Florence Margaret MacLeod, age 85, passed away in Harbourstone Enhanced Care on Friday, November 15, 2019. Daughter of the late Murdock and Janet MacLeod. She is survived by sister Olive Humphrey and brother Alex (Ann) MacLeod, nephew Darryl (Nicole) and niece Heather, 2 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by brother-in-law Ralph Humphrey. Florence graduated from Sydney Academy and worked for a time with Logue Industrial Supplies and also at the Steel Plant's General Office. She obtained her education degree and the majority of her working life was spent as a teacher first at Thompson High and then later at Memorial High School. Florence loved animals and was a longtime and active volunteer with the SPCA and Pets Without Vets. A funeral service will be held at Sydney River United Protestant Church on Tuesday, November 19 at 2pm with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later time in Alfred E. Smith Memorial Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
