It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Georgina, on January 29th, 2024. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend. Georgina was predeceased by her husband Clem Lahey in 2015.
Gina was born on July 24, 1944, to Bridget and Robert Parsons, and lived in Louisbourg, NS for many years. After meeting and marrying the love of her life Clem in January of 1968, it wasn’t long before the young couple moved their family to their forever home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Main-A-Dieu, NS. Georgina loved her view of the ocean, her home, her family and her life. She had a wonderfully positive outlook on life, and she never failed to show it by caring deeply for her large family. She never missed the opportunity for Wednesday night bingo with her sister Bobby, or simply just spending summer weekend nights staying up late, eating lobster, and talking with her sister Alice. Gina was a generous lady with a wonderful sense of humour, and her life should be celebrated. She always welcomed visitors into her home with open arms, hot tea and sweets.
Georgina was the heart of the family, and she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her 3 Sons, Gerard, Clement Jr. and Robert; 2 Daughters-in-law, Lisa and Loretta; 7 Grandchildren whom she was devoted to, Cyle, Michael (Katie), Sara, Dillon (Bryanna), Brianna, Tarryn, and Katie; 6 Great Greatchildren whom she adored, Allie, Alexa, Callum, Alaya, Peyton, & Connor; 2 beloved Sisters, Alice, and Bobby (Herman); many In-laws on her late husband Clem’s side, many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and family friend Jisele with Sons Keaton and Kale. Georgina leaves behind many caring and close family members that watched over her in her later years. She was predeceased by her parents, and 2 beloved Brothers Ernie (Lorraine) and Michael.
The family would like to thank the caregivers, nurses and doctors at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital CCU Unit, for all of their efforts to make Georgina and the family as comfortable as possible.
A celebration of Georgina’s life will take place in the Spring of 2024.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
